Some good things about Broome

by Charles
(U.K.)

We stayed at the Bayside apartments in Broome, opposite Matso's. Good self-catering accommodation, reasonably priced, everything provided. Lunch at Matso's was a treat every day.

Watching Indiana Jones at Sun openair cinema was just brilliant; the planes passing over at dramatic moments just intensifed the atmosphere! We wrapped up well and didn't get bitten at all.

Another highlight was Greg's Astrotour - seems Broome is an ideal place to study the night sky (so the Kimberleys too, if you know what you're looking at, so it would have been good to have gone at the beginning of the trip, rather than the end). We had four days in Broome to readjust to civilisation, but it just ended up being yet another holiday.
