Gas for fuel - gas/petrol stops and availability across Kimberley?

Could you please tell me if it is possible to do the Gibb River Road with dual fuel as opposed to diesel? If the answer to this is yes what about Mitchell Falls? Do you know where I can get maps with gas/petrol stops? Thanks, Donna

Gas and petrol in Kimberley

Hi Donna,
I recommend a Kimberley map here that shows everything you need and a heck of a lot more.

LP gas is not easy to come by in the Kimberley once you leave the bitumen. It's only available in the towns and in the main roadhouses along the highway.

Along the Gibb River and Kalumburu roads you have diesel and petrol except at Imintji which does not sell petrol. So as long as you make sure you have enough petrol to get from Broome or Derby to Mt. Barnett you will be fine.
