Day 1 - Darwin
Day 2 - Kakadu - travel around 220 km
Day 3 - Kakadu - sight seeing
Day 4 - Darwin - want to visit Mindil Beach (220 km)
Day 5 - Litchfield National Park - exploring waterfalls (100km)
Day 5- Katherine - canoeing and walking (210 km)
Day 6 - Katherine - ditto
Day 7 - Kununurra - long day of driving 515 km
Day 8 - Turkey Ck - wanted to break the trip to BB (200k)
Day 9 - Bungles - arrive around noon - walk Echidna chasm (100k)
Day 10 - Bungles - walk southern areas eg Cathedral/Piccaninny
Day 11 - Emma Gorge 270 km - staying in resort
Day 12 - El Questro 30 km - staying in resort
Day 13 - Mt Elizabeth HS - 330 km
Day 14 - Manning Gorge (camping) - 70 km
Day 15 - Mt Hart - exploring Bell, Galvin, Adcock Gorge 150km
Day 16 - Windjana Gorge (camping) - 135 km
Day 17 - Broome - rest at Cable Beach - 360 km
Day 18 - Broome - ditto

Birgit - I found your book very helpful in devising my itinerary. I particularly noted your comments about not trying to compress everything into the time available so reluctantly have left out Mornington, Mitchell Plateau, Cape Leveque - however I think the trip will be amazing.

I will be travelling in early June 09 so hopefully all roads are open and in good order as I have pre-booked most of the accommodation.

Sorry that it took me so long to get back to you. (I've been away on an amazing trip myself.)

Thanks for the kind words and for sharing your itinerary. It looks good! I don't have any other comments on it. Early June you should be fine.

The only thing you may encounter is one of those stupid out of season rains that we experienced in the last two years. But since those were out of season oddities there is no way to avoid them or plan around them...

I hope it will be a perfectly normal season and am sure that it will be an amazing trip in any way.
